About Me

My photo
Every day I pray and battle with my mission to start pleasing God and stop satisfying myself and appeasing others. Defeats in this battle have cost me a lot, where prayers, praise and God’s Word have brought some miraculous victories. It is not because my daddy is a preacher or because I was always in church, that I see God not as a casualty but a necessity. However, at 23 my experiences and understanding that IT MAY NOT BE EASY TO DO THE RIGHT THING BUT THE CONSEQUENCES OF DOING THE WRONG THINGS ARE TOO HARD TO DEAL WITH, have brought the Sunday school lessons, the sermons, and the prayers into perspective. Being perfect is unpractical but being young and saved is not! I've done a whole lot of something for nothing. But after meeting Jesus Christ I decided I would give anything to have Him as my Everything!

SATISFIED?

BIBLE VERSE OF THE DAY!!!

Ecclesiastes 2:10-11 I denied myself nothing my eyes desired; I refused my heart no pleasure. My heart took delight in all my work, and this was the reward for all my labor. Yet when I surveyed all that my hands had done and what I had toiled to achieve, everything was meaningless, a chasing after the wind; nothing was gained under the sun.

A minister to celebrities once turned to a video camera and stated,“Hey, to all you out there in TV land who think money will solve your problems; I deal with people who have money and have many problems…’’ But don’t take his or my word for it be my guest and Google Michael Jackson, Lindsey Lohan, R. Kelly, Whitney Houston (just to name a few) and read up on them.

Solomon continuously expresses in Ecclesiastes that everything is Meaningless! This man who had wisdom, power, wealth and even the favor of God talked about how all this world has to offer is emptiness.

He realized that only God could make him happy. He wanted those of us who read this book not to waste time chasing after everything in the world to make us happy. Solomon wanted us to realize that success and prosperity do not last long that in the end we will end up disappointed but true happiness comes from a relationship with God. Nothing in this world can satisfy the place that only God can fill. It doesn't matter what kind of home you live in, what kind of car you drive, or what your bank account says, only a relationship with God can satisfy the longings, restlessness and emptiness inside you.

God is fulfilling. Know you don’t have to be hollow but can be whatever God wants you to be. Which for all of us includes the fruits of the spirit: love; joy; peace; patience; kindness; goodness; faithfulness; gentleness; self-control. And one if not several gifts of the spirit: the gift of wisdom, knowledge, faith, healing, performing miracles, prophecy, discerning spirits, tongues, interpreting tongues, administration, and helpfulness. WOW! Did you ever realize what all you can hold if you will just let go and let God?

So amidst your busy schedules of school, work, and pleasure keep in mind these things are temporal and will pass away, but God remains the same today, yesterday, and tomorrow. Let Him satisfy you!.

Lord, unveil our own hearts and desires to ourselves as we sit under Your word. Show us the idols; show us the things that we desire more than You. Show us the things that we desire instead of You. If we are apart from You, show us our deepest unhappiness; an unhappiness that can only be answered by Your Word, Yourself. Make then Your Word a skillful surgeon to our hearts, and Your Spirit to grant us new life as we see our poverty and need, and see the only hope of the fulfillment of that poverty and need in Jesus Christ, in whose name we pray. Amen.
