About Me

My photo
Every day I pray and battle with my mission to start pleasing God and stop satisfying myself and appeasing others. Defeats in this battle have cost me a lot, where prayers, praise and God’s Word have brought some miraculous victories. It is not because my daddy is a preacher or because I was always in church, that I see God not as a casualty but a necessity. However, at 23 my experiences and understanding that IT MAY NOT BE EASY TO DO THE RIGHT THING BUT THE CONSEQUENCES OF DOING THE WRONG THINGS ARE TOO HARD TO DEAL WITH, have brought the Sunday school lessons, the sermons, and the prayers into perspective. Being perfect is unpractical but being young and saved is not! I've done a whole lot of something for nothing. But after meeting Jesus Christ I decided I would give anything to have Him as my Everything!

WHY DOES SIN FEEL SO GOOD?

Question: WHY DOES SIN FEEL SO GOOD? Why would God allow something in arms reach to be so wrong , yet feel so right?

Answer 1: For one, not all "sin" feels good...in fact, in the long run, most sin feels awful.

· Sexual sins feel good, until your heart gets broken (or worse)

· gluttony feels good, until you gain so much weight you can't move

· lying and stealing feel good, until you get caught

· adultery feels good until you lose your family

· consuming any number of substances feels good, until you become addicted.

· even murder feels good, but only to a psychopath.

Answer 2: most of the "fun sins" are related to an aspect of our nature that serves a legitimate function in our survival

· sex is necessary for reproduction and an essential part of building unity in a marriage...eating is necessary for our body to function and grow. Most drugs that people use "recreationally" (and often "abuse") have valid medical uses to treat or cure illness and disease.

Answer 3: God isn't messing with people by making "really good things" that are harmful

· all of those "really good things" serve "really good" purposes...but only when they are used as they were designed to be used. A lawn mower does a really good job of cutting your lawn...but if you try to use it to cut your hair, you're going to wind up in the emergency room. That's just the way "things" work.

Of course it is hard to live for God every day of our lives...do you think it should be easy to live up to the expectations of a being who claimed to have created us in HIS image? How easy was/is it to live up to your parent's expectations of you...and they're flawed humans!

Focus on what you can control...your own choices. Then ask yourself whether someone who really cared about you would recommend that you cut your hair with a lawnmower or any other abuse of something created for a different purpose? Who is telling the truth when he says he cares about you...a father who recommends you wait to have sex and eat a healthy diet or one who encourages you to have sex with anyone you want for any reason and eat whatever tastes good to you???
